Staying Safe traveling - light

This is the time of year when many of us traveling in hotels on holiday and stay , I have just returned from three weeks in Europe with my family, and it came to me after talking with my children, when I stay in hotels considered taking things, do not even think the most people. So, instead of my usual nonsense, I for this issue want to share with you some simple fire safety measures that you think about it, might like if you choose and use hotels, things that only you could help return safe and sound to Jakarta for the next edition of Indonesia Expat in August. See then!

"Check it out before you check in." Before a hotel, you search the Internet for information and guest comments. Check out to assess photographs showing the standard of the house. Check the hotel for information on safety and security standards website. You can probably judge this book by its cover.

"Low floor near the door." for a room Ask possible on the lowest floor, as close as possible to the elevator lobby. This is a selection of the emergency exit near the elevator or the emergency exit at the end of the corridor, if you have to leave.

"your way out of knowledge." Make a note of where the nearest exits are and check whether the window is an optional emergency exit. Count the number of doors between the rooms and the outputs and observe which side they are so you have a range of options, even if you can not see. For example, remember "right four left" if you directly for the exit and it is four doors on the left side down, or "left two right" when you turn to the exit on the left and it's two doors on the right side , Close your eyes and make a picture of the routes in the head. Try to use the stairs to reach the lobby at least once, so that you are familiar with the route, if the elevators are disabled.

"When in doubt, get out." When you hear, see out or smell anything unusual about the nearest emergency exit if danger and alert staff to do your concerns.

"Look before you leap." Check there is no fire in the hallway outside the room or outside the window before trying to end this way.

"to trigger the alarm." let The hotel staff and know the authorities as soon as possible that you believe there is a dangerous situation by any means possible -. do not be shy and do not assume someone else has done it

"poise and noise." If it is not safe to leave your room, stay and make sure that everyone knows quiet, you are there. Use your mobile phone to call for help and call as many people as possible to ensure that you stranded not remain. Shout out the window, put on the lights when they are working and they flash to attract attention.

"the gaps sense." If there is smoke in the hallway, the gaps block under and around your door with wet towels. Open the window when safe to do so in order to allow fresh air into the room.

"fight back." Fill to use the bath with water for fire fighting when the flames get too close. Cover your nose and mouth with a wet towel to filter and cool the air as much as possible.

"Stay low and go!" If you are forced to leave your room, if there is evidence of fire outside, stay as close as possible to the ground, where to find the cleanest air, keep your nose with a wet towel and head toward your safest stored output as soon as possible covered mouth. Do not take things with you -.! They are slowly Surely only down
