School holidays are almost upon us, and I'm sure you are busy planning for a trip somewhere. I think most of us just call the travel agent to get an idea flights and prices, but there are a few tools to the planning of the journey a little easier.
Hipmunk make for international flights
, I would recommend checking out Hipmunk for iPhone. It has an interface other companies can only dream of and is the easiest way to obtain options for travel. You can book directly with a link to Orbitz, but it might be to obtain secure an idea of what is available and then call the travel agency (I would Bertha Manta Tours ... recommend my friends and I have been staying with and it is the best ball in the sector. their number is 345 7272 and tell her, Mr Mark). A very cool feature of Hipmunk is to sort the ability of "spoiled" - a combination of price, duration and number of stops. It makes sense - the cheapest flights are not always the most practical
AirAsia
For domestic - and some international - travel, I'm a big fan of Air Asia. As you know, you can not buy their tickets through a travel agent, so you have to go online or their new apps for iPhone and Blackberry fire. While they are not as smooth as Hipmunk far, you can buy tickets directly in the app (and select your seat, order meals, etc.) at and to check if flights are on time or not. If you buy a ticket on your device, you get a cool e-version with barcode which can be scanned in other countries case directly at the check-in counters and quick telephone connections for all of their offices can be found in a traffic jam.
Indonesia flight
The latest app is flight Indonesia and quickly became my favorite. You just put your data and destination and the app aggregates several domestic airlines (Garuda is conspicuously omitted) and shows what is available. It does not allow direct bookings and purchases, but it gives you web links and even a clickable phone number to close the deal. Indonesia flight, the real value is the ability to find, where flies, when and for how much. Since the app gets the data from the airlines sites, the data should also be fairly accurate. It works for both iPhone and iPad and costs $ 1.99.
